First post: what is Ithaka

In the era of division and polarisation, it is time we return to our human essence of integration and unity. Through the marriage of skill and motivation, we can all contribute to a greater good and achieve a more integrated society. Refugees are a great part of our current european society that are often left at the margins of our daily private and professional lives.

Ithaka enables refugee integration to a society through the exchange of skills, cultural education, community events and professional mentorship.

We propose an extension to an Utopia59 website which is the platform allowing the connection between the refugees willing to contribute and integrate and locals aspiring to exchange and connect.

Even though the desintegration has been present for a while now, there has not yet been a platfrom for a one-on-one, personal, informal exchanges, potentionally leading to job acquisition and integration to a job market while contributing to the economic ecosystem of the given country. No matter the sector, this platform will provide the tools to allow refugee’s aspirations blossom and become real.
